According to the California Highway Patrol, a hit-and-run accident occurred in Carmichael on Wednesday. The crash happened eastbound on Walnut Avenue toward the Fair Oaks Boulevard intersection.
According to the investigators, an unknown vehicle and a 90-year-old woman were involved in the collision. The driver of the unknown vehicle was traveling eastbound and struck the 90-year-old woman.
A 90-year-old woman was identified as the pedestrian who suffered significant injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the woman is not yet known at this time.
According to the reports, it is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the accident. No additional information regarding the fatal crash was provided by the Deputies.
