A tragic multi-vehicle accident involving a Princeton ISD school bus claimed the life of a 9-year-old girl on Wednesday afternoon. The Texas Department of Public Safety confirmed that four vehicles, including the school bus, were involved in the fatal crash on the two-lane Long Bridge between Lucas and Branch around 3:45 p.m.
The victim was identified as a young girl, traveling with her 41-year-old mother in a Nissan. The mother sustained non-incapacitating injuries and is hospitalized in McKinney. A 20-year-old Jeep driver suffered minor injuries.
Fortunately, the nine children on the school bus, along with the bus driver, escaped unharmed. The cause of the collision is under investigation by the Texas DPS.
