On Thursday, nine people suffered injuries following a collision between a city bus and an SUV in Bibb County.
As per the initial information, the two-vehicle crash took place on Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. The early reports showed that a midsized Macon Transit Authority bus and a Subaru were involved in the accident.
According to the eyewitnesses, the SUV was making a left turn off Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, onto Cherry Street while the bus was heading south on MLK Jr. Blvd when it crashed into the SUV at the intersection. Due to the impact, the Subaru rolled over and the bus flipped on top of it.
There were six passengers and a driver on the bus at the time of the collision whereas the Subaru had a driver and one passenger. All nine people were transported to the hospital in stable condition. No other details are immediately available.
The crash remains under investigation.
