The Marshall Police Department reported a pedestrian accident on Friday. The accident occurred in the 2600 block of East Houston Street at 10:40 p.m.
According to the officials, a woman was walking down the road when she was hit by a vehicle. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
The woman was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. The officials have identified her to be 88-year-old Marlene Floyd.
The cause of the fatal accident is still being investigated. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision. The officials have reported that no charges have been filed in the crash.
