The Midland Police Department reported a multi-vehicle accident that occurred in the 1900 block of South Lamesa Road, Midland on Monday. The officials confirmed that one person died in the accident. According to the officials, the deceased victim was identified as 87-year-old Sally Garcia.
Around 1 pm in the 1900 block of South Lamesa Road, there were two vehicles involved in the accident. The cause for the crash was that the Mercedes sedan was travelling southbound on South Lamesa Road as a Toyota minivan was travelling northbound.
The minivan moved into the left-hand turn lane and while attempting to turn onto the 1100 block of East Gist Street, collided with the sedan.
The authorities are still investigating the cause of the fatal crash. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision. There are no other details available at this time.
