The Sylmar Police Department reported a motor vehicle accident on Thursday night. The accident occurred in the 14000 block of Foothill Boulevard at around 8:45 p.m.
According to the officials, two vehicles were involved in the collision. A Ford Fusion was headed north when it crashed into a parked vehicle. There were two people present in the parked vehicle.
The passenger was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. The officials have since identified her as 87-year-old Aurora Reynozo. The driver of the parked vehicle was not seriously injured.
The driver of the Ford was arrested on the charge of driving under the influence at the time of the fatal crash.
