A tragedy struck Phoenix on Tuesday as an 86-year-old woman lost her life following a three-car crash near Seventh Avenue and Thomas Road. Authorities responded to the scene around 11 a.m., discovering Gladyce Thorson Nielsen and a man with serious injuries, according to the Phoenix Police Department.

Both Nielsen and the man were rushed to the hospital, where the elderly woman was tragically pronounced dead. The man, however, remained in stable condition, as confirmed by the police.

Other occupants involved in the crash, who didn’t require hospitalization, remained at the scene. The multi-vehicle accident prompted the closure of Seventh Avenue for several hours as authorities conducted their investigation. As inquiries continue, no further details have been provided regarding the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash.
