Fallbrook resident Thomas Carl Asper, 86, tragically lost his life in a collision on Jan. 31 in North County. Asper was driving south on Old Highway 395 near the Interstate 15 off-ramp when his Toyota Venza was struck by a Jaguar XF exiting the freeway.
The multi-vehicle accident caused Asper’s vehicle to overturn, resulting in his ejection. Despite his efforts, Asper succumbed to his injuries after being taken to the hospital. Fortunately, the 18-year-old driver of the Jaguar emerged unscathed.
California Highway Patrol Officer Hunter Gerber stated that drugs and alcohol were not factors in the fatal crash, which remains under investigation.
