The Tucson Police Department reported a motor vehicle accident on Sunday night. The collision involved two vehicles. Police found a Jeep turned on its side on North La Cañada  Drive close to West Sunset Road at around 8:30 p.m.

The driver of the Jeep, Ahrens, rear-ended a car. It was travelling north on La Cañada at West Rollercoaster Road. After this, Ahrens continued northbound on La Cañada in the southbound lanes.

He collided with another car. This caused the Jeep to flip over onto its side, according to the earlier press release.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department stated that Marcia Claridge, 86, a passenger in one of the wrecked cars, was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Then Ahrens fled the scene of the collision, but he was quickly found. No other details regarding the fatal crash are available currently.
