According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a multi-vehicle accident occurred in Lubbock on Wednesday. The crash happened at Murphy Street and Business 20 at around 8:18 a.m.
According to the investigators, an unknown vehicle and an unknown train were involved in the collision. The officials stated that the train driver struck the unknown vehicle and was transported to the hospital for treatment.
An 86-year-old John Edward Grube was identified as the passenger in the Nissan who was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to the reports, it is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the accident. No additional information regarding the fatal crash was provided by the Deputies.
