The Washington State Patrol reported a motor vehicle accident in Spokane on Saturday. The accident occurred at the intersection of State Route 395 and Half Moon Road at around 1:15 p.m.
According to the officials, a single vehicle was involved in the collision. A woman was headed north on the highway when she attempted to merge to the right. She instead went into the shoulder of the road. The woman overcorrected which caused her vehicle to roll over multiple times.
The driver of the vehicle was critically injured and was rushed to Sacred Heart Medical Centre for treatment. She succumbed to her injuries on Monday and was pronounced dead. The officials have identified the victim as 85-year-old Marian F. Stewart.
The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated at this time.
