The New Mexico State Police reported a motor vehicle crash in Albuquerque on Tuesday morning.

The accident occurred on Interstate 40, near the Juan Tabo exit at around 8:30 a.m. 

According to the officials, a Ford pickup truck crashed into a Chevrolet Aveo that was parked in the right lane near the Juan Tabo exit. 

The driver of the Aveo, identified as 83-year-old Ona Savage, incurred critical injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in Savage’s car, identified only as a 14-year-old, was also injured and taken to a hospital. The driver of the pickup truck was not injured in the accident. 

The fatal accident is still being investigated. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the accident. There are no other details available at this time.
