The Texas Department of Public Safety reported a motor vehicle accident in Wise County on February 1. The crash occurred early Thursday morning on US-287 near Alvord in Wise County.

According to the authorities, Bobby Ray Vineyard, 83, and his daughter, Whitney Chantel Housour, 57, were traveling in a car. The vehicle was going southbound when Housour reportedly lost control on wet roads, causing the vehicle to veer off the roadway and rollover. As a result, the elderly man was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. Vineyard’s daughter sustained unspecified injuries. She was transported to Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth for treatment. 

The cause of the fatal crash continues to remain under investigation. Both individuals were reportedly wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the accident. There are no other details available at this time.
