According to the California Highway Patrol, a multi-vehicle crash occurred in Kings County that left a woman dead and two others injured on Sunday.
On Sunday roughly at 11:30 a.m., 65-year-old Mariano Najar Martinez of Huron was driving a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado westbound on Highway 198. He slammed into a 1998 Chevrolet S-10 driven by an 82-year-old Maria Aguerralde of Huron, eastbound on Highway 198.
Najar Martinez seemed intoxicated, said the investigators. Maria Aguerralde was fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene. Her passenger 53-year-old Julia Mendoza was transported to the hospital for treatment due to her injuries.
The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated. No further information is available at the moment.
