80-Year-Old Colin Thorpe Died In A Motor Vehicle Crash In Peoria (Peoria, AZ)

The Peoria Police Department reported a motor vehicle crash on Monday afternoon. The accident happened close to 99th and Peoria Avenue at around 3 p.m.

According to authorities, a man in his 20s was struck by a car while attempting to cross the westbound lanes of Peoria Avenue. 

He was pronounced dead at the scene after succumbing to his injuries. He has been identified as Colin Thorpe, an 80-year-old Peoria resident.

According to authorities, the person was not in a crosswalk when the crash occurred. The driver of the single vehicle that was involved in the crash stayed at the site.

No one has been detained, according to the police. Although they have ruled out impairment, investigators are still looking into whether speed played a role in the fatal crash
