The Riverside Police Department reported a motor vehicle crash on Friday morning. The accident happened at the Riverside intersection at around 7:30 a.m.
Four siblings were travelling eastbound on Arlington in a 2015 Nissan Sentra that Obed’s eldest sister was operating at an unknown speed when a 2020 Honda Civic driven by the 22-year-old driver, whose name was withheld, approached from the opposite direction.
According to Railsback, the Honda veered into opposing lanes of traffic and collided head-on with the Nissan.
An 8-year-old child, Obed Barbosa Carbajal was pronounced dead at the scene. The other victims, who have only been identified as Obed’s sister, 25, brother, 16, and sister, 10, are still in the hospital.
The 22-year-old man who police claim caused the collision is still being treated for serious injuries in the hospital. The fatal crash is still being investigated by the officials.
