8 People Killed In A Pedestrian Accident In Brownsville (Brownsville, TX)

The Brownsville Police Department reported a pedestrian accident on Sunday. The accident occurred at a bus stop near Ozanam Center, a shelter for migrants and unhoused people, at around 8:30 a.m. 

According to the officials, a Land Rover had been driving down the road when it ran a red light and swerved into the bus stop. The vehicle rolled over causing it to crash into the people. 

The officials reported that there were 7 people who were pronounced dead at the scene. Another person succumbed to their injuries that night which made the total death count to be 8 at this time. The identities of the deceased victims are not yet known. 

The driver of the vehicle has been charged with reckless driving so far. The officials have confirmed that the suspect is not cooperating. There are no other details regarding the fatal crash available at this time.
