The California Highway Patrol reported a motor vehicle head-on collision that killed 8 men in Madera County on Friday.
Approximately at 6:30 a.m., a pickup truck traveling on Avenue 7, west of Road 22, rammed into a GMC van that had 8 passengers. The driver of the pickup truck and the seven other men from the van, who were not wearing seatbelts, were fatally injured as a result. They were pronounced dead at the scene.
The identity of the dead is not yet disclosed. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated. No further information is available at the moment.
