According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, 79-year-old Victoriano Ruiz Esparza was killed in a fiery pedestrian accident in Moreno Valley on Friday.
Roughly at 5:00 p.m., in the 23900 block of Ironwood Avenue, West of Heacock Street an unidentified vehicle struck Esparza. The victim was trying to cross into westbound lanes. Esparza was pronounced dead at the scene, said the authorities. The driver of the vehicle is not yet identified.
It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated. No further information is available at the moment.
