The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported a multi-vehicle accident in Monterey County on February 3. The crash occurred at 2:40 p.m. on River Road and Las Palmas Parkway.
According to the authorities, a 79-year-old Pacific Grove man’s truck flipped over near Salinas. CHP investigators revealed that a woman driving an Audi southbound on River Road crossed the double yellow line, colliding with a Ford truck traveling northbound. The impact caused the truck to overturn, leaving the victim fatally injured at the scene.
While the involvement of drugs or alcohol remains uncertain, the fatal crash remains under investigation by authorities. A female passenger was also transported to a local hospital, while the Audi driver sustained minor injuries. The identity of the victim has not been disclosed.
