79-Year-Old Lawrence Oglesbee Killed In A Multi-Vehicle Crash In Clark County (Clark County, OH)

A tragic two-vehicle crash in Moorefield Township claimed the life of one person on Friday afternoon. The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating the incident, which occurred around 3:30 p.m. on April 12.

The crash took place on State Route 72 just north of Eagle City Road. Preliminary findings indicate that a 2016 Ford Escape, driven by Lawrence Oglesbee, 79, of Urbana, was pulling onto State Route 72 from a private driveway.

Simultaneously, a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado, operated by a 56-year-old Springfield man, was traveling south on State Route 72. Tragically, the Ford failed to yield to oncoming traffic and was struck by the Chevrolet. Oglesbee was transported to the hospital but later succumbed to his injuries.

The other driver sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was also hospitalized. OSP received assistance from the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, Moorefield Township Fire & EMS, and Dan’s Towing at the scene.
