A tragic incident unfolded in Tyler on Monday morning as a man lost his life after being hit by a vehicle, according to the Tyler Police Department. The crash occurred at approximately 7:45 a.m. at the intersection of W. Front St. and S. Peach Ave.
Later in the afternoon, authorities identified the victim as Evencio Arellano, 79, and confirmed that his next of kin had been notified. Arellano was pronounced dead around 8:15 a.m. as a result of the collision.
The details surrounding the crash, including the circumstances leading up to it, were not immediately disclosed. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision.
