78-Year-Old Walter Wilkins Killed In A Pedestrian Accident In Lubbock (Lubbock, TX)

The Lubbock Police Department reported a pedestrian accident on Wednesday. The accident occurred at 98th Street and Slide Road at around 8:02 p.m. 

According to the officials, a pedestrian and a vehicle were involved in a collision. The pedestrian was crossing 98th Street when he was hit by a passenger van. The van had been heading east at the time of the crash. 

The pedestrian was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. The officials have since identified the victim as 78-year-old Walter Wilkins. 

The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated at this time. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision. There are no other details available at this time.
