According to the Cathedral City Police Department, a fatal crash was reported on Sunday in Cathedral City. Officials confirmed that one person died due to the pedestrian accident.
Authorities stated that the collision occurred on Mission Drive. The accused driver was identified as 34-year-old Heber Alexander Henriquez.
Henriquez struck the 78-year-old pedestrian and fled from the scene. He was booked on homicide and hit-and-run charges by the police officials.
Other insights into the wreck including the identity of the victim have been withheld. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision.
