Georgia State Troopers responded to a two-vehicle crash that claimed a life. The crash happened on Stone Bridge Road at Grady School Road around 3:19 p.m.
The crash claimed the life of 78-year-old Johnny Burton Freeman.
State troopers said Robby Douglas McDaniel, 57, of Jefferson, failed to stop at a stop sign on Grady School Road and pulled into Freeman’s path.
The Cadillac struck the front passenger side of the truck. Both the vehicles traveled off the road into a field. The Cadillac overturned, ejecting McDaniel from the truck.
Freeman was pronounced dead by the Franklin County Coroner. A 16-year-old passenger in the car sustained minor injuries and was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville.
Charges were filed against McDaniel.
