A 77-year-old woman lost her life after getting struck by a car Thursday in Lakeside.
As per the initial information, the fatal auto-pedestrian crash took place near the Lindo Park Elementary School. The early reports showed that the victim was hit by a Honda Accord driven by a 37-year-old man that was heading north on Pino Drive at Lindo Lane, near the Lindo Park Elementary School at about 6:45 a.m. Thursday.
The victim was immediately taken to Sharp Memorial Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries. A child was in the vehicle at the time of the collision. The CHP did not release her age. The driver and child passenger were unharmed and stayed at the scene. No other details are available.
The incident remains under review.
