According to the Washington State Patrol, a three-vehicle wreck was reported on Friday night in Perce County.
The officials stated that Trinidad H. Ruiz, 77, from Olympia was travelling west on State Route 702 between Clear Lake and McKenna. Two other drivers, identified as a 27-year-old man from Graham and a 31-year-old man from Roy were headed east on the same road.
According to the trooper, the Roy man slowed down to turn left onto Eighth Avenue Court East. The Graham man entered the westbound lanes and struck Roy man’s vehicle and Ruiz’s vehicle.
The Graham man and the Roy man were not injured in the accident whereas Ruiz was transported to Tacoma General Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
According to the officials, unsafe passing caused the fatal crash.
