The Washington State Patrol reported a motor vehicle accident in Spokane on Monday. The accident occurred on Interstate 90, south of Medical Lake at around 5:30 p.m.
According to the officials, a single vehicle was involved in the collision. The car had been heading west on the highway when it lost control and went off the roadway. The car then went into the left shoulder and overcorrected back to the right.
It then crossed all lanes to the right shoulder before rolling over. The driver of the vehicle was seriously injured and taken to a hospital. The passenger present in the vehicle was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger has been identified as 77-year-old Suzanne M Twete.
The fatal crash is still being investigated.
