A motor vehicle accident occurred on eastbound Interstate 10 at the Oak Valley Parkway offramp in Beaumont. Shortly after 9:30 p.m., truck driver, Jimmy Ray Whitehead of Morton, rear-ended three vehicles that had come to a stop for a red traffic light at the offramp.
California Highway Patrol Officer Jonathan Torres reported that four individuals sustained injuries related to the crash. A Beaumont resident, identified as 77-year-old Harry McCreery was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at Riverside University Health System Medical Center in Moreno Valley less than an hour after the collision, as confirmed by the coroner’s office.
Jimmy Ray Whitehead, the truck driver is suspected to have been driving under the influence of drugs.
