The Texas Department Of Public Safety reported a motor vehicle crash in Wilbarger County on Monday morning. The accident happened on US 287, Harrold truck stop west at around 6 a.m.
The collision involved a pedestrian and a vehicle.
According to the initial report by the investigators, 76-year-old Mitchell Raines, a Harrold man was struck by a southbound car that did not stop.
Raines was found dead at the scene by officials in the right lane of southbound U.S. 287. According to the press release, Raines lived about 300 yards south of the highway.
Whether drugs or alcohol were a factor involved is yet to be found.
The fatal crash is being investigated by the officials. Additional information regarding the crash is not available currently.
