A 76-year-old man lost his life following a DUI crash Wednesday in Desert Hot Springs.
As per the initial information, the fatal auto-pedestrian accident took place at about 10:40 p.m. on Maui Way and Hacienda Avenue. The early reports showed that an eastbound driver failed to see the pedestrian walking on the roadway. The Desert Hot Springs Police Department Major Accident Investigation Team responded to the crash scene.
The pedestrian succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The officers arrested the involved driver on DUI charges. They booked her into the John Benoit Detention Center in Indio. The identity of the deceased will be released once the next of kin is notified. No other details are available.
The incident remains under investigation.
