The Texas Department of Public Safety reported a motor vehicle accident in Eastland County on Wednesday. The accident occurred on Interstate 20, just outside of Cisco.
According to the officials, a single vehicle was involved in a collision. A Jeep Wrangler was headed west on the highway when it went off the north side. The van then steered back, crossing both lanes and went into the centre median.
The vehicle then crashed into the dividing cable. It rolled over several times before coming to a rest in the eastbound lanes.
The driver of the vehicle was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. The officials have identified the victim as 76-year-old Charles Bowen.
The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision.
