76-year-old Catherine Lee Treulich killed, 2 others hospitalized after a crash near Half Moon Bay (Half Moon Bay, CA)

Officials identified 76-year-old Catherine Lee Treulich as the woman who lost her life following a head-on collision earlier this week on Highway 1 near Half Moon Bay.

The fatal car accident was reported at 1:09 p.m. Monday on Highway 1 south of Capistrano Road. The investigation reports showed that Treulich was driving her 2010 Ford Flex northbound at 50 to 60 mph when she entered the opposing lane and collided head-on with a 2016 Peterbilt truck.

Treulich and her 17-year-old passenger received major injuries as a result of the accident. They were rushed to Stanford Health Care, where Treulich died Tuesday. The current condition of the passenger remains unknown at this time. The driver of the cement truck was shifted to San Francisco General Hospital with minimal injuries. Alcohol or drugs were not believed to be involved in the crash. No other details are available.

An investigation continues.
