According to the California Highway Patrol, a fatal crash was reported on Thursday in Sunland. Officials confirmed that one person died due to the pedestrian accident. Authorities stated that the collision occurred across Foothill Boulevard.
A red pickup truck struck a pedestrian crossing the roadway. As she tried to get up to her feet, a Toyota Tacoma once again hit her.
The pedestrian was identified as 75-year-old Yong Gustavson. Gustavson was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck.
Other information pertaining to the crash is yet to be determined. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision. The crash continues to be investigated by the CHP.
