The California Highway Patrol reported a motor vehicle accident in Calaveras County on Tuesday. The accident occurred near Avery Ranch Camp 9 Road, off Parrotts Ferry Road at around 2 p.m.
According to the official, a single vehicle was involved in the collision. A Jeep was pulling up on an embankment when it rolled over onto the driver’s side. This pinned the driver to the road.
The driver was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. The officials have identified the man but it has not been released pending notification of the family.
The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated at this time. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision. There are no other details available at this time.
