74-Year-Old Michael Chambiss Killed In A Bicycle Accident in Ojai (Ojai, CA)

The California Highway Patrol reported a bicycle accident on Friday in Ojai. The accident occurred in the eastbound lanes of Rancho Drive, just west of Del North Road at around 10:43 a.m.

According to the officials, a man was driving on Rancho Drive when he lost control of his bike and collapsed on the asphalt roadway. He was unresponsive when the paramedic came. 

The driver of the bicycle was then rushed to Ojai Valley Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. He has since been identified as 74-year-old Michael Chambiss.

The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision. There are no other details available at this time.
