The Arizona Department Of Public Safety reported a multi-vehicle accident that occurred on Saturday. The incident involved a bicycle and an SUV.
Authorities confirmed that one person died in the accident and added that the deceased victim had been identified as 74-year-old Christopher Myers.
The incident took place at the intersection of E. River Road and N. Via Entrada at around 6:14 a.m. An SUV was traveling westbound on River Road, and the bicyclist was crossing River Rd heading north towards Via Entrada.The SUV struck the bicyclist as he crossed the westbound lanes. The bicyclist was unfortunately pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation into the fatal crash is currently ongoing.
