The Los Angeles Police Department had previously reported a hit-and-run accident that killed a 73-year-old man in Pacoima early in August. The victim has since been identified as Perfecto Delgado Garcia by the Los Angeles County Department Medical Examiner.
The incident took place at around 8:40 p.m. on a Wednesday, near Norris Avenue and Polk Street. Perfecto Delgado was crossing south of Polk Street when he was struck and killed by a Ford Explorer SUV.
The cause of the crash, and the whereabouts of the other vehicle remain unknown. The investigation into the cause of the fatal crash is still underway.
