73-year-old man dead after a bicycle crash in Sharpstown area (Houston, TX)

On Monday morning, a 73-year-old man lost his life following a two-vehicle accident in Sharpstown area.

As per the initial information, the fatal bicycle crash took place in the 7800 block Bellaire Boulevard at about 10:15 a.m. The preliminary investigation indicated that driver of a Toyota Tundra pickup truck turned right onto Bellaire Boulevard, hitting the bicyclist who was crossing the road, possibly in the crosswalk.

On arrival, medics rushed the rider to Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center where he was later declared dead. Officers questioned the 51-year-old truck driver, who they say was not drunk and remained at the scene. The truck driver was released. No other details are available.

The crash remains under investigation.
