According to the California Highway Patrol, a hit-and-run accident occurred in Los Angeles on Thursday. The crash happened at Western Avenue and 79th Street at around 11:50 p.m.
According to the investigators, an unknown motorcycle and a 72-year-old were involved in the collision. The motorcyclist was traveling at a high speed, struck an unknown pedestrian, and fled the scene.
A 72-year-old was identified as the unknown pedestrian who suffered significant injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The California Highway Patrol did not reveal the identity and the name of the unknown deceased person.
The cause of the accident is still being investigated at this time. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision.
