The Buckeye Police Department reported a motor vehicle accident on Wednesday. The accident occurred in the parking lot of a grocery store at around 9:30 a.m.
According to the officials, a semi-truck and a person were involved in the collision. Apparently, a man was hit by the semi. The events leading up to this are still unclear.
The man was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. The officials have since identified him as 72-year-old James Runge.
The driver of the semi remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. The officials have confirmed that impairment was not a factor in the fatal collision.
The cause is still being investigated. There are no other details available at this time.
