On early Tuesday, 71-year-old Dennis A Hanson lost his life following a head-on crash on Trent Avenue.
As per reports, Hanson was driving his Subaru Outback east on Trent when he crossed a double yellow centerline and attempted to pass a vehicle and was struck head-on by a semi-truck traveling in the opposite direction on Trent Avenue and Starr Road south of Newman Lake. On arrival, responders declared Hanson deceased.
The driver of the semi-truck, 45-year-old Jeremy J Cummings suffered injuries as a result of the crash. Officials shut down Trent Avenue between the state line and Starr Road in Newman Lake for several hours, police said.
An investigation is ongoing at this time.
