In a tragic motor vehicle accident on Wednesday morning, a single-vehicle crash claimed the life of a motorist on the Antelope Valley (14) Freeway in the Lancaster area.
The California Highway Patrol responded to the fatal crash, which occurred around 10:40 a.m. on the southbound 14 Freeway near Avenue G. The victim, identified as 71-year-old Christopher Gaver, was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene, as confirmed by the Los Angeles Department of Medical Examiner.
The circumstances leading to the fatal crash remain under investigation. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision. There are no other details available at this time.
