A tragic head-on crash outside Santa Fe claimed the life of 71-year-old Christopher Alyam-Moser earlier this month, according to reports released by New Mexico State Police.
The incident, which occurred on March 7 on U.S. 285, involved Alyam-Moser driving a Toyota RAV4 north in the inside southbound lane without headlights.
Moments before the crash, a witness noticed Alyam-Moser as a wrong-way driver and attempted to warn oncoming traffic by flashing high beams. However, the warning was not enough to prevent the collision.
Alyam-Moser collided head-on with a Volkswagen SUV driven by 31-year-old Matthew Paulazzo. Alyam-Moser was pronounced dead at the scene, highlighting the tragic outcome of the fatal crash on the highway.
