A tragic pedestrian accident occurred on Saturday evening in Beaumont’s north end, where a 70-year-old man, Earnest Foster of Beaumont, was struck and killed along Magnolia Ave. According to Jefferson County Precinct One Justice of the Peace Ben Collins, Sr., Foster succumbed to injuries sustained from being struck by a vehicle. Beaumont Police responded to the scene in the 3500 block of Magnolia Ave. following the incident.
Preliminary investigations indicate that a 2001 Chevrolet traveling north in the right lane of Magnolia Ave collided with Foster as he walked from a vacant lot into the street.
Despite efforts, Foster was pronounced dead at the scene. The police have not disclosed further details at this time as the investigation into the fatal crash continues.
