According to the California Highway Patrol, a motor vehicle accident occurred in Paso Robles on Tuesday.
The crash happened westbound on Highway 46, west of Bethel Road at around 1:56 p.m.
According to the investigators, a 1998 Dodge Ram and a 70-year-old man were involved in the collision. The officials stated that the truck drifted from the westbound lane across the eastbound lane of traffic and onto the south shoulder, onto a dirt embankment. The vehicle re-entered and traveled across the westbound lane and the vehicle came to a stop on the mud and grass embankment.
The driver was identified as a 70-year-old man who suffered significant injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The fatal crash continues to be investigated by the Paso Robles Police.
