70-year-old man dead following an auto-pedestrian crash in La Jolla (San Diego, CA)

A 70-year-old man lost his life after getting hit by a vehicle Monday evening in La Jolla.

As per the initial information, the fatal auto-pedestrian collision took place in the 2500 block of Torrey Pines Road just after 6 p.m. The preliminary reports showed that a 70-year-old man was crossing the 2500 block of Torrey Pines Road just after 6 p.m. when he was struck by a Toyota Camry driven by a 40-year-old woman.

On arrival, first responders rushed the man to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. The identity of the deceased will be released once the next of kin is notified. Alcohol did not contribute to the crash. No other information is available.

An investigation is ongoing.
