7-year-old dead after a bulldozer ran over him in west Michigan (Barry County, MI)

On Thursday, a 7-year-old boy lost his life after he fell from a trailer being towed by a bulldozer and was run over in West Michigan.

As per the initial information, the fatal incident took place at approximately 5:30 p.m. in a field near a home in the 7100 block of Lawrence Road near Marshall in Maple Grove Township in Barry County. Maple Grove Township is around 21 miles north of Battle Creek and almost 121 miles west of Detroit.

Reports further revealed that the boy’s father was operating a bulldozer and hauling a trailer. The boy, from West Michigan, fell off the trailer and was run over. The boy suffered major injuries and was declared dead at the scene by the officials. Authorities believe that the boy’s death was an accident.

According to the officials, the bulldozer was known to malfunction and the machine would abruptly stop and then shift into reverse on its own. Authorities believe that this is what happened when the boy fell off the trailer. Drugs and alcohol did not seem to be involved in the accident. No other details are immediately available.
