69-year-old Michael A Mount dies after crashing his car into a fence (Benton City, WA)

On Thursday, 69-year-old Michael A Mount, a man from Benton City, lost his life after he swerved off I-182 near the Richland city limits and crashed his car into a fence.

According to the Washington State Patrol, the fatal incident took place at about 9:11 a.m. As per reports, Mount was going westbound on his 1998 Buick LeSabre on I-812 at milepost five when he left the roadway and collided with a fence.

On arrival, first responders rushed Mount to Kadlec Regional Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries. The Benton City man’s family was notified of his passing by Kadlec hospital staff. The victim was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash. Authorities believe that drugs or alcohol did not play a factor in the accident.

An investigation is underway.
