The Amarillo Police Department reported a hit-and-run accident on Saturday morning. The accident occurred in the 6800 block of Wolflin and Port at around 11:44 a.m.
According to the officials, a black Dodge Journey was headed west on Wolflin when it hit a man. The man was crossing the intersection of Wolflin and Port.
The pedestrian was critically injured and was rushed to a local hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. The officials have since identified the victim as 69-year-old Johnathan Mack Minium.
The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated at this time. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision. There are no other details available at this time.
